Ferryland RCMP investigates fatal ATV crash in Mobile

A 26-year-old man is deceased and a 24-year-old man is seriously injured following an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash that occurred in Mobile during the early morning hours of November 7, 2022.

Shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Monday, Ferryland RCMP received the report of the crash that occurred on Mobile First Pond Road. An ATV departed the gravel roadway and collided with a tree. Both occupants, who were not wearing helmets, were ejected. The deceased died at the scene. The other occupant was transported via ambulance to a hospital in St. John's for urgent medical attention.

Police determined that the ATV involved in the crash was stolen from Melvin's ATV Parts and Accessories Ltd. in Burnt Cove in September of 2022.

The investigation is continuing and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is engaged.
