News release

RCMP Nunavut is increasingly seeing posts concerning crime made on various social media platforms without being reported directly to police. Please note that the RCMP cannot accept complaints through social media.

RCMP Nunavut continues to highlight results of investigations and crimes committed on its Facebook and Twitter platforms in both official languages, and thanks the public for their engagement in sharing and commenting on the posts.

RCMP Nunavut encourages anyone with information on a crime within RCMP detachment areas to report directly to police by calling or visiting a detachment. Contact information for all RCMP Nunavut detachments can be found here: https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/detach/en/find/NU.

Crimes can also be reported to Crime Stoppers at toll-free 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), submitting a secure web tip at www.nwtnutips.com or text 'NWTNUTIPS' plus your message to 274637 (CRIMES).
