Digby RCMP is investigating a fire that occurred overnight on Reservation Rd. on the Bear River First Nation.
At approximately 1:15 a.m. this morning, Digby RCMP and fire responded to a report of a structure fire on Reservation Rd. on the Bear River First Nation. Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP officers observed that the building was fully engulfed and the fire department were working on extinguishing it.
Once the fire was extinguished, it was determined that the building was a total loss. RCMP officers and firefighters examined the scene to attempt to gather evidence. Based on the evidence collected, it is possible that the fire was suspicious in nature. RCMP officers have secured the scene and the Nova Scotia Fire Marshal's Office has been contacted to assist with the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing at this time and further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
No one was present in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
