Dauphin RCMP seize firearms after suspect attempts to flee on bicycle

On August 16, 2022, at approximately 3:00 am, Dauphin RCMP officers were conducting a patrol on 1st Street S when they observed three known subjects on bicycles who appeared to be in the process of conducting a drug trafficking transaction.

Officers attempted to approach the three suspects who fled the scene on their bicycles. A short foot pursuit ensued and the officers apprehended a 21-year-old male, from Saskatoon.

A search of a backpack in the possession of the suspect resulted in the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun, a handgun, bear spray and break-in instruments.

Collin Pruden was remanded into custody on charges of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon x2, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x2, Carry Firearm in Careless Manner and Possess Break-In Instruments.

Officers continue to search for a 24-year-old male and 30-year-old male, both from Dauphin, who will face charges once apprehended.
