Colchester County District RCMP investigating fatal crash

Colchester County District RCMP is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Hwy. 311 in North River.

On August 17, 2022, at approximately 10:40 a.m., Colchester County District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Hwy. 311 in North River. RCMP officers learned that an SUV had been travelling on Hwy. 311 when it left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

The driver, and sole occupant, of the SUV, a 37-year-old man from Old Barns, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A collision reconstructionist is currently at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 311 remains closed between Upper Brookside Rd. and Truro Rd. and is expected to remain closed for several more hours.
