Cochrane RCMP investigate report of child luring

Cochrane RCMP are investigating a report of child luring, which occurred on May 30, 2022, at approximately 5:20 p.m.

An 11-year-old female was walking home in the area of Sunset Park and Sunset Square in Cochrane, Alta., when she was approached by a male. The male asked if she wanted to get into the back of his van, stating that he had an ice cream business. The female made a pretend call to her father and was able to walk away.

The male suspect is described as follows:

  • 40-50 years' old
  • Medium build with a pot belly
  • Shaggy brown hair which looked dyed
  • Wearing a red and blue flannel shirt and jeans

The suspect's vehicle is described as follows:

  • A white, full sized van
  • Potentially has a black roof rack
  • Rusted wheel wells
