On April 26, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Boyle RCMP received a complaint of an assault. Upon arrival, the suspect barricaded the residence and threatened the officers on scene with an edged weapon. RCMP Police Dog Services and the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team were deployed to assist. The suspect eventually exited the residence, and upon picking up a knife, was safely subdued by officers without injury.
RCMP have charged a 54-year-old individual of Boyle with the following:
- Assaulting a Police officer (x2)
- Assault with a Weapon
- Assault by Choking
- Fail to comply with release conditions (x3)
- Uttering threats (x2)
- Mischief under $5000
- Mischief over $5000
The individual has been remanded in custody pending court.
