On August 24, 2022, at approximately 10:05 am, officers from the Blue Hills (Brandon) RCMP and Rivers Police Service responded to a report of a motorcycle collision located on Road 65N, two kilometres west of Provincial Road 270, in the RM of Elton.

Officers attended the scene and have determined that a motorcycle, with two occupants, was travelling eastbound on Road 65N when it lost control and rolled onto its side. Roads conditions due to the recent rain was a factor in the collision.

The operator, a 73-year-old male from Toronto, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. His 79-year-old female passenger, also from Toronto and who was wearing a helmet, was transported to hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Blue Hills RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
