Bay St. George RCMP responded to the report of a single-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) west of Gallants early Monday morning and arrested the driver for impaired operation.

Shortly before 2:00 a.m. on November 21, 2022, police received the report of the crash and attended the scene. A car had departed the TCH and was over an embankment. He failed a roadside breath test, was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were over the legal limit.

The man was released from custody and is set to attend court at a later date to face charges of impaired driving. The car was seized and impounded and the man's licence was suspended.
