Bay St. George RCMP investigates suspicious fire at Pentagon Lunch Stop warm-up shelter near Cold Brook

Bay St. George RCMP is investigating a recent fire that destroyed a warm-up shelter, commonly known as the Pentagon Lunch Stop, near Cold Brook. The fire is considered suspicious in nature and police are seeking the public's assistance.

On May 18, 2022, police received the report of a fire in the area of the Whale Back Nordic Ski Club in Cold Brook. Officers attended and observed the warm-up shelter, collapsed and burning. The structure was a total loss.

The investigation is ongoing.
