Bay St. George RCMP continues to enforce impaired driving laws, with two recent arrests for impaired driving offences.
In the early morning hours of November 19, 2022, Bay St. George RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash near Black Duck Siding on Route 460. The driver of the vehicle, a 31–year-old man, showed signs of impairment and failed a roadside breath test. The man was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the detachment, where he provided further breath samples above the legal limit. He is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to impaired driving charges.
At 1:45 a.m. on November 21, 2022, police received the report of a single-vehicle crash on the Trans Canada Highway near Gallants. Officers attended the scene and found the lone occupant, a 64-year-old man, to be exhibiting signs of impairment. The man failed a roadside breath test, was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the detachment. He provided further breath samples above the legal limit. The man is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to impaired driving charges.
