Annapolis District RCMP charged three impaired drivers in less than seven hours on July 31.
At approximately 4 p.m. on July 31, 2022, Annapolis District RCMP responded to a report of a collision between an SUV and an ATV on Hwy. 101 near Waldec. RCMP officers learned that the SUV had been travelling on Hwy. 101 when the ATV entered the highway resulting in a collision. The driver of the SUV was uninjured. RCMP officers located the driver of the ATV, a 43-year-old Waldec man, nearby after he tried to flee the scene. The man was displaying signs of impairment and was arrested for Impaired Operation. He transported to the detachment where he provided samples of breath that were nearly three times the legal limit. The man was released from custody and will be facing charges of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance, Impaired Operation of a Conveyance over 80 mg% and Failure to Remain at the Scene of an Accident. He will appear in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court on October 3, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., Annapolis District RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a car, an SUV and a house, on Queen Street in Bridgetown. RCMP officers learned that the SUV had been travelling on Queen St. when it collided with the car, left the road and came to rest against a house. The driver of the car and occupants of the home were uninjured. The passenger of the car suffered injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. The driver of the SUV, a 61-year-old Bridgetown man, was displaying signs of impairment. The man was arrested for Impaired Operation and transported to the detachment where he provided samples of breath that were nearly three times the legal limit. The man was released from custody and will be facing charges of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm and Impaired Operation of a Conveyance over 80mg%. He will appear in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court on October 3, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., Annapolis District RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Parker Mountain Rd. in Granville Ferry. RCMP officers learned that a car had been travelling on Parker Mountain Rd. when it left the roadway. The driver of the car, a 21-year-old Upper Clements man, was displaying signs of impairment and was arrested for Impaired Operation. The man was transported to the detachment where he provided samples of breath that were nearly twice the legal limit. The man was released from custody and will be facing charges of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and Impaired Operation of a Conveyance over 80mg%. He will appear in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court on September 19, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
