Alberta RCMP Major Crimes investigating homicide in Red Deer

On Oct. 13, 2022, at approximately 2:33 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of an unconscious male in the area of 58 Avenue and 61 Street in Red Deer. Upon arrival, EMS transported the victim to an area hospital were he was pronounced deceased.

On Oct. 14, 2022, an autopsy was performed, and the victim's manner of death has been determined to be a homicide.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of the investigation. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Brandon Robert Loughlin, a resident of Red Deer.
