Airdrie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit execute search warrants, lay charges

On Feb. 11, 2022, the Airdrie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit with the assistance of Didsbury RCMP and the Emergency Response Team executed two search warrants, one at a residence in Carstairs, Alta. as well as one at a rural property in Rocky View County.

As a result of the two search warrants, RCMP seized 174.0 grams of Fentanyl, a stolen utility trailer, and a stolen license plate.

A 36-year-old male of Carstairs has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

After a judicial hearing, he was released to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on Feb. 28, 2022.

As these matters are before the courts, no further details can be provided.
