42-year-old man dies following two-vehicle collision

A 42-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., has died following a two-vehicle collision in the community.

On August 9, 2022, shortly after 5 p.m., the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision between a minivan and a service truck on Shediac Road, in Moncton. The driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the service truck was not injured.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the car crossed over the centreline and collided head-on with the service truck. An RCMP collision reconstructionist, the Moncton Fire Department, and Ambulance New Brunswick also attended the scene. The road was closed for several hours, and has since reopened.

A member of the New Brunswick Coroner's office is assisting with the investigation. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the man's exact cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
