27-year-old pedestrian dies following collision with ATV

A 27-year-old man from Tignish, PEI, has died after being struck by an all-terrain vehicle in the community.

On March 5, 2022, at approximately 11:20 p.m., members of the Prince District RCMP, Island EMS, Tignish Fire Department, and the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure responded to a report of an injured pedestrian on the 200 block of Church Street in Tignish.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. The 27-year-old man died at the scene as a result of his injuries, and the driver of the ATV was not injured.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist and a member of the PEI Coroner's office attended the scene and are assisting with the ongoing investigation. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the man's exact cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
