June 9, 2021
Watson Lake, Yukon

News release

Yukon RCMP Critical Incident Program will be conducting training exercises in Watson Lake, Yukon from June 14 to 16, 2021. Police will be using the Lakeview Apartment over the three-days to conduct team drills. RCMP want the public to be aware that they may hear loud noises or explosions coming from this area and that there will be an increased presence of police officers in the community while these exercises take place. "Training frequently allows members of the Critical Incident Program to maintain their skills," stated Inspector Rob Nason, District Officer of the Yukon RCMP. "Our goal is to be able to respond efficiently when called in order to keep Yukon communities safe."

The exercises will be done in a controlled manner by professionals with no risk to the public.
