West Hants District RCMP is investigating after a serious collision on Hwy. 1 in Newport Corner.
At approximately 5:50 p.m. yesterday, police responded to a collision on Hwy. 1 in Newport Corner. Police learned that a motorcycle had been travelling west on Hwy. 1 when it left the roadway. The motorcycle rider was ejected from the motorcycle. The rider, a 37-year-old woman from Ardoise, suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital in Halifax via Lifeflight.
Hwy. 1 was shutdown for approximately three hours.
The investigation is ongoing.
