Update - Lynn Lake RCMP searching for an escaped prisoner

At 10:00 pm on August 9, 2021, Lynn Lake RCMP were contacted and advised that 46-year-old Daryle Johnson wished to turn himself in to police.

Officers attended to the local church in the community where he was arrested without incident. Johnson was still in handcuffs at the time.


Johnson will be remanded into custody later today on an additional charge of Being Unlawfully at Large.

On August 7, 2021, at 12:30 pm, Lynn Lake RCMP officers were preparing to escort 46-year-old Daryle Richard Johnson from the Lynn Lake Detachment to the Leaf Rapids Detachment when escaped lawful custody prior to being secured into the police vehicle.

Johnson, who was in handcuffs as he was led out of the detachment, ran off on foot into the wooded area and was pursued by officers who lost sight of him.

Johnson, who police consider to be dangerous, is not to be approached. He is described as 5'9", 180lbs with black short hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black sweat pants and a burgundy sweater.
