UPDATE: Collision in Port Hood results in fatality

June 23, 2021
Port Hood, Nova Scotia

News release

On June 21, 2021, the Inverness County District RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 19 in Port Hood. The RCMP initially provided information indicating that a 12-year-old child had been taken to hospital in Halifax by Lifeflight as a result of the collision.

The RCMP would like to issue a correction and confirm that the child was 11 years old, not 12 as originally reported.

With heavy hearts, the RCMP can confirm that the child has succumbed to her injuries and has since passed away.

Our thoughts are with the victim's family at this very difficult time.
