Two-vehicle collision claims life of 37-year-old man

A 37-year-old man from Tabusintac, N.B., has died following a two-vehicle collision in Dugas.

On April 29, 2021, at approximately 10:20 p.m., members of the Caraquet RCMP, Grande-Anse Fire Station, Caraquet Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report of a head-on collision between a car and a tractor-trailer on Route 11.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the car travelling northbound crossed the centerline and collided with a tractor-trailer travelling southbound.

A 37-year-old man, who was the driver of the car died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. They were the sole occupants of their vehicles.

The road was closed temporarily, but has since been re-opened. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the man's exact cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
