On January 1st, 2021 Whitehorse RCMP attended a residence in the Takhini Trailer Court to arrest 41 year old David Moss for outstanding warrants as well as new charges relating to two recent complaints of domestic violence. Mr. Moss was unwilling to present himself at the home for arrest upon police request.
For underlying safety reasons, the Yukon RCMP Critical Incident Program (CIP) was deployed, including members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT). City of Whitehorse By-law officers assisted with traffic control on Range Road. A short time later, Moss exited the residence and was arrested without incident. Also arrested and charged was the owner of the residence, 20 year old Tyler Thorlakson.
David Moss has been charged with the following offences:
- assault with weapon;
- two counts of assault;
- unlawfully in a dwelling house;
- two counts of failing to comply with conditions; and,
- two counts of disobeying a court order.
Mr. Moss remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 6th at 1 p.m.
Tyler Thorlakson has been charged with the following:
- obstruction;
- aiding and abetting.
Mr. Thorlakson appeared in court and was released on an Undertaking. He is next scheduled to appear on January 20th at 10 a.m.
