Three missing people located after overnight search

Lunenburg District RCMP, with assistance from the Joint Rescue-Co-Oordination Centre (JRCC), have located three missing people who had gotten lost while tubing in Pleasant River.

At approximately 8:35 p.m. on August 7, police received a complaint of three people that were overdue after they had gone tubing in Pleasant River. Police and fire responded to the area and the local Ground Search and Rescue teams were activated as well. As the search continued, police requested assistance from the JRCC, who dispatched a Cormorant helicopter to the area. The three people were located by the crew of the Cormorant a short time later.

All three people were uninjured and were driven home by police. The RCMP would like to thank the JRCC, the various fire departments and the ground search and rescue teams who attended to assist in this search.
