Three individuals arrested for impaired driving since September 15

The East Prince RCMP has arrested three individuals for impaired since September 15, 2021 in Lennox Island, PEI.

On September 15, police responded to a report of a single-vehicle in the ditch with nobody around. Police arrested a man in connection with the investigation shortly after who displayed signs of impairment. The following day, while conducting a traffic stop, police arrested a driver who displayed signs of impairment. On September 19, police responded to a report of a collision outside a home between an all-terrain vehicle and a parked unoccupied vehicle. Police arrested a woman at the scene who displayed signs of impairment.

All three individuals were transported to the East Prince Detachment for further testing, which confirmed they were over the legal limit. They were all issued documents pending a future court appearance, as well as having their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded at their expense.

The RCMP is reminding the public that operating any type of motor vehicle while impaired is criminal and dangerous. If you see a suspected impaired driver, call 911 immediately. Your description of the driver, vehicle, licence plate number and direction of travel can assist police in finding and getting an impaired driver off the road.
