Thompson RCMP traffic stop leads to drug and cash seizure

On September 18, 2021, at approximately 10:15 pm, officers with the Thompson General Investigative Section (GIS) along with assistance from our Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Police Dog Services (PDS) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle where a 36-year-old male, from Winnipeg, along with two passengers, a 33-year-old male from Winnipeg and a 33-year-old female from Thompson, were arrested for the possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a small quantity of cocaine and a large amount of Canadian currency.

A search warrant was then executed at a hotel room used by the suspects where officers located one kilogram of a white substance believed to be a drug cutting agent, a small quantity of cocaine, a duffel bag containing Canadian currency and other drug related paraphernalia.

The three accused were later released on an Undertaking scheduled for November 26, 2021, in Thompson Provincial court.

Thompson RCMP continue to investigate.
