Update - Thompson RCMP respond to shots fired into residence

On August 17, 2021, as a result of this ongoing investigation, Thompson RCMP located and arrested 20-year-old Liam Heickart.

Heickart was wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred at a residence located on Pipe Road on the evening of August 16, 2021.

He was remanded into custody on charges including Discharge Firearm with Intent x2, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of a Restricted Firearm.

Officers have recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.

Thompson RCMP continue to investigate.


Last night, Thompson RCMP received a report of a firearm having been discharged into a residence located on Pipe Road in Thompson.

Officers immediately attended to the residence and located a 25-year-old male, from Cross Lake, with a gun shot wound. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation has determined that a male suspect approached the residence and discharged a firearm through a window striking the victim.
