On January 10, 2021, at 12:40 am, Swan River RCMP responded to a report of a structure fire at a residence in the hamlet of Renwer, located approximately 15 kilometres east of Minitonas.
Once the fire was brought under control and extinguished, firefighters entered the structure and located unidentified human remains. No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
