Strathcona County RCMP investigate firearms incident related death – Update #2

News release

The Strathcona County RCMP and the Major Crimes Unit have arrested a 43-year-old male of Strathcona County in relation to the firearms incident on May 7, 2021, on Baseline Road in Sherwood Park. The 43-year-old male has been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. He is being detained until his first appearance on Monday, May 10, 2021, at the Edmonton Court House.

The Strathcona County RCMP and the Major Crimes Unit would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance. No further updates are to come.

Strathcona County RCMP investigate firearms incident related death – Update #1

RCMP advise that Baseline Road between Highway 21 and Cloverbar Road is now clear for traffic.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) has taken carriage of the investigation.

The RCMP are seeking dash cam footage from the area of Baseline Road near Highway 21 and Cloverbar Road between 6:15 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. on May 7, 2021.
