Stonewall RCMP investigating a stabbing at Stony Mountain Institution

On June 11, 2021, at approximately 12:50 pm, RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at Stony Mountain Institution. Officers were advised that several inmates had entered the cell of another inmate where a fight then ensued. A 42-year-old inmate had been stabbed and was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. A 25-year-old inmate was also injured in the fight and taken to hospital with minor injuries. The 42-year-old was reported to be in stable condition. Stonewall RCMP continue to investigate.
