Shamattawa RCMP seize large amount of illicit pills

On September 26, 2021, as a result of an ongoing investigation into the trafficking of illicit drugs in Kisematawa First Nation, Shamattawa RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence located on Wolf Avenue.

A search of this residence led to the seizure of over 2800 pills, including Oxycodone, Codeine and Alprazolam. Officers also seized over 100 grams of cannabis, numerous bottles of vodka and a quantity of Canadian currency.

The investigation led to the arrest of four individuals, a 51-year-old male and three females, ages of 49, 24 and 21, from the community, who remain in police custody.

It is estimated that the street value in Kisematawa First Nation is approximately $105,000.00
