Selkirk RCMP respond to drowning

On July 4, 2021, at approximately 5:00 pm, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a possible drowning in a rock quarry located on Taylor Road in the RM of St Andrews.

Officers were advised that a 4-year-old boy, from the RM of Dufferin, was playing in the water near the beach when a family member lost site of the child.

Emergency Services were immediately contacted and upon arrival, conducted a water and ground search.

At approximately 7:25 pm, the body of the 4-year-old had been recovered from the water.

Selkirk RCMP continue to investigate.
