On April 22, 2021, at approximately 1:00 am, Selkirk RCMP received a report of an assault at a residence in the RM of St. Andrews. Officers attended to the scene and arrested a 28-year-old male. The male is a member of the Winnipeg Police Service. He was off-duty at the time of the offence. He is facing charges of Assault, Mischief Under $5000, and Possession of a Scheduled Substance (psilocybin).
The male has been released on an Undertaking.
The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba has been notified and is taking a monitoring role in the investigation.
