Red Deer RCMP seize large amount of drugs during investigation

Late last month, Red Deer RCMP's Crime Reduction Team were conducting an investigation of a stolen vehicle when they located an individual connected to the vehicle. During the investigation, a 38-year-old male of Red Deer was found to be in possession of a substantial amount of drugs.

  • After conducting a search, investigators located and seized:
  • 273 grams of methamphetamine
  • 20 grams of Fentanyl
  • 29 grams of Psilocybin
  • 103 grams of Cannabis Solid concentrate
  • 47 grams of Cocaine
  • 14 capsules of Hydromorphone
  • 20 capsules of Oxycodone
  • 131 capsules of Fentanyl Pills
  • The 38-year-old male faces nine charges, including:
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x5)
  • Possession of an imitation weapon or weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Fail to comply with a resource order
  • Proceeds of crime
  • Unlawfully distributing cannabis

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at Red Deer Provincial Court on Feb. 18, 2021.
