RCMP Traffic Services East and RNC Traffic Units partner together and lay 75 speeding charges

A Cadillac SUV is impounded for travelling 160 km/h at Butter Pot Park on August 11, 2021.

On August 11, 2021 RCMP Traffic Services East and RNC Traffic Services partnered together on the Trans-Canada Highway at Butter Pot Park. Through the use of a LIDAR, police laid 75 speeding charges throughout the morning and afternoon.

Two of these motorists also had their driver's licence suspended and vehicles impounded for travelling 160 km/h each.

RCMP NL Traffic Services continues to see frequent occurrences of excessive speeding and aggressive driving.

Speed kills! RCMP Traffic Services will continue rigorous enforcement to ensure safety on our roadways.
