The New Brunswick RCMP has arrested two people and seized several firearms, drugs and money as part of an ongoing drug investigation in the Northeastern part of the province.

On April 14, 2021, police executed four search warrants simultaneously at residences on Route 160 in Saint-Sauveur and Allardville, N.B. The investigation was led by the Northeast District Crime Reduction Unit.

During the search, police seized several firearms including some that were unsecured and a quantity of cash. Police also seized what is believed to be cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, hydromorphone pills, and drug paraphernalia used in the drug-trafficking industry.

A 50-year-old man and 24-year-old man, both from Saint-Sauveur, were arrested at the scene. They were later released and are scheduled to appear in Bathurst Provincial Court on October 18, 2021.

Members of the Northeast District RCMP, Police Dog Services, Southeast District Crime Reduction Unit, RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (drone), and New Brunswick Proceeds of Crime Unit assisted during the searches.

The public plays an important role in helping to reduce, prevent and solve crime, including the trafficking of illegal drugs. Anyone with information about, or who suspects, illegal drug activity in their neighbourhood is asked to contact their local police. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.

The investigation is ongoing.
