RCMP seeking information related to a break, enter and theft

The Caraquet RCMP is hoping information from the public will help their ongoing investigation into a break, enter and theft at a church in Grande-Anse, N.B.

On July 2, 2021, police received a report of a break and enter at Église Catholique Saint-Simon-et-Saint-Jude on Rue Acadie. The suspect(s) forcefully gained entry through the back door of the church, and stole a number of items. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between June 27 and July 2, 2021.

Items stolen include a church altar tabernacle, and an encensoir, both of religious significance. A large black industrial fan was also stolen.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity at Église Catholique Saint-Simon-et-Saint-Jude between June 27 and July 2, or who has information about the theft or current whereabouts of the stolen items, is asked to contact the Caraquet RCMP at 506-726-5222.
