RCMP investigates serious collision

The RCMP is currently on scene at a single-vehicle collision on Kolbec Rd.

At approximately 1:03 p.m. this afternoon, Cumberland District RCMP were called to a single-vehicle collision on Kolbec Rd. in Kolbec.

An initial investigation has determined that a northbound vehicle left the road. There were two occupants. A woman has been transported to the Amherst Hospital. A man is being transported to the QEII hospital in Halifax via Lifeflight.

A collision reconstructionist is attending the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Kolbec Rd. is closed at the intersections of Mount Pleasant Rd. and Hwy 6. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The highway is expected to remain closed until late tonight.
