RCMP investigate aggravated assault

Yarmouth Rural RCMP is investigating an incident after responding to a report of a serious assault in Wedgeport.

At approximately 9:55 p.m. on April 16, Yarmouth Rural RCMP was called to a home in Wedgeport and located a man with serious injuries. Police were told that the suspects, two men and one woman, had broken into the victim's home, assaulted him with a weapon and stole jewelry from him. The suspects then fled the area in a vehicle. The victim was taken to hospital by EHS for treatment.

On April 18, 2021, one of the men and the woman were located in Bridgewater and arrested without incident. Both were held in custody overnight and will be appearing in Yarmouth Provincial Court later today.

Police continue to look for the second male suspect in connection with this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
