News release

At approximately 8:30 am this morning, officers from both the Headingley Traffic Services unit and the Headingley / Stonewall Detachment responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on the Perimeter Highway (PTH 100) located between Portage Avenue and Roblin Blvd.

The investigation has determined that a vehicle, being driven by a 28-year-old male from Winnipeg, was travelling southbound when it lost control and collided with a pole.

The 28-year-old male was pronounced deceased on scene. Slippery road conditions were present at the time of the collision and alcohol is not a factor.

Headingley Traffic Services, along with the Criminal Collision Investigation Team and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
