RCMP charge man with drug and weapons offences in Liverpool

The Queens District RCMP has charged a Liverpool man following an investigation into methamphetamine trafficking in Queens County. The investigation was conducted in partnership with the South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit.

On May 14, 2021, at approximately 10 a.m., police executed a search warrant on a home in Liverpool in relation to methamphetamine trafficking investigation, and arrested a 28-year-old man without incident. Police searched the home and seized a substantial quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis, cash, an airsoft pistol, a conducted energy weapon, bear spray, drug paraphernalia, a cell phone, and what is believed to be a stolen ATV.

William Robert Stagg of Liverpool has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Section 5(2) CDSA (2 counts)
  • Unauthorized Cultivation, Propagation or Harvesting of Cannabis Plants – Section 12(4) CBA
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – Section 88(2) CC
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon – Section 91(3) CC
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 – Section 354(1)(a) CC

Stagg has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on July 14, 2021, at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.

The South Shore Street Crime Enforcement Unit is made up of members from the Lunenburg County RCMP and the Bridgwater Police Service.
