Prince District JFO seize cocaine and over $62,000 in cash during the execution of five search warrants

The Prince District JFO Drug Unit which is comprised of RCMP, Summerside Police, and Kensington Police executed five search warrants on Friday February 19th, 2021 for a cocaine trafficking investigation. Police executed three search warrants in Summerside, one search warrant in Borden, and one search warrant in Hope River. JFO also executed two more search warrants on Saturday February 20th, 2021 in relation to this investigation. Three residences, one cottage, one property with storage buildings, one business, and one commercial property were searched.

A 37-year-old male and a 40-year-old male were arrested on February 19th, 2021 in relation to this investigation for possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine. Both men were later released and will be compelled to court on a later date.

As a result of these search warrants police seized over three ounces of cocaine, $62,470 in cash, 30,000 contraband cigarettes, cannabis, a money counter, prohibited weapons (brass knuckles and a conducted energy weapon "taser"), and other items.

The Prince District JFO Drug unit was assisted by the following units: The RCMP Federal and Serious Organized Crime Unit, Summerside Major Crime Unit, the RCMP Major Crime Unit, CISPEI, the RCMP Police Dog Services, the RCMP Tech Crime unit, Summerside patrol units, Summerside Forensic Identification Unit, and the L-Division Special Tactical Operations Unit (comprised of RCMP, Summerside, and Charlottetown police).
