Powerview RCMP traffic stop leads to drug seizure and two arrests

On March 18, 2021, at approximately 2:00 pm, RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 304, just south of Powerview.

Officers seized approximately 20 grams of cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, Canadian currency and weapons.

The driver, Norbert Courchene, 44, was arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

The passenger, Bradley Courchene, 41, was wanted on five outstanding warrants and was arrested. Both were remanded into custody.

Powerview RCMP continue to investigate.
