Parkland RCMP – GraceLife Church Update 7

March 17, 2021
Parkland County, Alberta

News release

This past Sunday, Parkland RCMP members and an AHS investigator attended the GraceLife Church to monitor for compliance of health orders and the closure order. Once again, the church was found to be non-compliant with the Public Health Order in that it was over the allowed capacity.

RCMP and AHS investigated, and charges were laid against the pastor on Feb. 16, 2021, and the church was charged as an entity for services held on Feb. 21 and Feb 28, 2021. However, Alberta RCMP cannot comment on matters currently before the courts.

The RCMP do not have the authority to shutdown any establishment - only an Alberta Public Health Inspector has that authority. Any public health-related enforcement against a non-compliant establishment lies with AHS.

The Alberta RCMP is a steadfast partner in this health crisis and will continue to support AHS in any future enforcement they pursue.
