News release

Clyde River, NU – May, 2020

On May 6, 2020 Nunavut RCMP called on the Ottawa Police Services to conduct a third-party investigation of a member of the community who suffered fatal injuries when he was shot by an RCMP officer responding to a call for service of a domestic disturbance.

The Nunavut RCMP have been updated and support the decision made by the Ottawa Police Services; their investigation has determined that there are no reasonable grounds to believe that any officer committed a criminal offence in connection with his death.
