Shelburne, Nova Scotia

News release

Shelburne RCMP have located a missing person with assistance from local Ground Search and Rescue.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. yesterday evening, police received a request for a wellbeing check at a home on Morvan Rd. as a neighbour noticed that the home owner's electric mobility scooter had been sitting at the end of the driveway with it's lights on since approximately 5 p.m. earlier that evening.

Police responded and could not locate anyone on the property or in the home. Police spoke with witnesses and other neighbours in the area and learned that no one had seen the missing person since 3 p.m. A search began shortly after 10 p.m. as police continued to investigate. The search was conducted by a local Ground Search and Rescue team and an RCMP Police Service Dog team.

After searching for a little over 5 hours, the missing person was located shortly after 3:00 a.m. The person was assessed by paramedics and after being found to be in good health, the person was then transported home by police.

The RCMP would like to thank the local ground search and rescue team who attended to assist in this search.
