Meadow Lake RCMP: traffic stop leads to trafficking charges

On July 5, 2021 at approximately 1:55 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP officers located a man who had warrants for his arrest from the Meadow Lake and Green Lake RCMP detachments during a traffic stop.

While arresting the driver, officers observed a bag of suspected methamphetamine in the door of the vehicle. Further investigation resulted in approximately 125 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 10 grams of suspected cocaine and a sum of cash being seized from the vehicle.

The driver, Kodi Gobert of Meadow Lake, SK, was arrested and charged with:

  • 1 count, possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine), Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • 1 count, possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • 1 count, possession of the proceeds of crime, Section 354(1), Criminal Code.

Gobert will appear in court on August 30, 2021.
