Mayerthorpe RCMP investigate shooting in industrial area of Highway 43 – Update - Investigation continues

Mayerthorpe RCMP continue to investigate a shooting that occurred On Feb. 4, 2020, shortly before 1:30 a.m., that had occurred in the industrial area of the Highway 43 and 50 Street in Mayerthorpe, Alta.

The victim, a 50-year-old male from Sangudo, Alta. received life-altering injuries as a result of the incident.

The suspect vehicle which was believed to be a dark colored Dodge Ram pick-up truck, has as a result of video footage, been determined to be a 2013 or newer, dark colour Ram 1500.

Despite receiving several tips from the public, the Mayerthorpe RCMP have yet to identify a suspect and continue to investigate.

Investigators believe there are people that know who is responsible for this incident, and are requesting anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
