On September 17, 2021, at approximately 7:45 pm, RCMP Central Traffic Services received a report of a two-vehicle collision which occurred in the eastbound lane of the South Perimeter Highway.
Officers have determined that an eastbound pickup collided into the back of a semi-trailer which had stopped, along with the other traffic, due to a train crossing.
The 51-year-old male driver, from Winnipeg, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The 22-year-old male driver of the semi and his 23-year-old male passenger, both from Winnipeg, were not injured.
RCMP Central Traffic Service along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
