Man arrested following report of stabbing

At approximately 2 a.m. on February 20, Colchester County District RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing that occurred in Shubenacadie. Police located the victim, a 38-year-old man from Upper Stewiacke, at the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The investigation revealed that the altercation occurred between two people following an argument, while travelling in a vehicle on Hwy. 2. There were two other people in the vehicle at the time of the incident and no one else was injured.

A short time later, the suspect was located at a home in Shubenacadie and was arrested without incident. Both the victim and the suspect are known to each other.

The suspect, a 37-year-old man from Elmsvale, was later released from custody and is schedule to appear in Truro Provincial Court on April 28 at 9:30 a.m. to face a charge of Assault with a Weapon.

The investigation is ongoing.
