Halifax District RCMP arrested a 42-year-old man following a break and enter at a church on St. Margaret's Bay Rd. in Boutilier's Point.
At approximately 2:15 p.m. on January 7, Halifax District RCMP responded to a call of a suspicious man walking in the Boutilier's Point area with an axe. While making patrols, police were alerted that the suspect was inside a church and may have broken in.
Members approached the church and saw that the bottom entry door was damaged and ajar. Inside members located the suspect sitting in a chair and significant damaged to the property. The suspect was arrested without incident. No one was injured in this incident and the axe was located next to the suspect.
Kevin Arthur Whiting is charged with Break and Enter, Mischief over $5000 and Possession on Break-In Tools. He is schedule to appear today in Halifax Provincial Court.
